In order for our students to be successful in the 21st Century, we believe that they must have access to the latest technology, tools, infrastructure and cyber-safety guidelines that will help them navigate not only today, but in the future as well. Students and staff must have access to the tools that allow for collaborative and creative instruction and learning.
Beginning in Fall of 2015, we will provide every high school student with a laptop for use at school and at home, as well as collaborative tools for teaching and learning.
Plaza
The "Plaza" is a digital teaching and learning platform that will become the one stop shop for students, teachers and parents. The "Plaza" will contain the tools for digital communication, instruction, curriculum, and collaboration for all members of our EPISD family.
When the "Plaza" is completed, teachers will be able to create and share instructional resources and assignments, students will be able to locate resources as well as digitally keep up with their classes, and parents will be able to closely monitor the progress of all their children enrolled in EPISD.
Path
EPISD recognizes that the old model of teaching, the "one-size-fits-all" approach, no longer is a viable method to prepare students for a technology- rich digital future. Employers, and universities want students who are creative, and innovative problem solvers that can apply knowledge to new and challenging situations.
EPISD is working to create an active learning environment for each of our students, based on their individual needs, abilities and preferences.
